The Connecticut Maritime Association is a not-for-profit group dedicated to the benefit of its members. It’s an Association designed of people from every facet of commercial and shipping commerce representing every aspect of international commerce. As a member of the association, you will have access to the latest information on ocean freight and maritime regulations, including federal Maritime Service regulations. You will be able to find a listing of all maritime shipping companies with their contact information as well as the latest information and news on the ocean freight industry.

The Connecticut maritime association is made up of businesses and shipping agencies that deal in all aspects of the ocean freight and international maritime industry. It’s an invaluable resource for everyone in the industry, helping everyone from ship owners to cruise ship lines to learn more about the regulations and standards that are enforced. In addition to its free information and educational purposes, the Connecticut Maritime Association offers seminars and training to its members to help them learn more about the industry. These trainings are designed to educate members on all aspects of the international maritime industry and can be very helpful to anyone looking to join the industry or those that are just starting out.

Recently, the CTIA has held several seminars for interested members of the association where they discussed everything from ice control methods to the types of sea vehicles that can handle ice conditions. During one of these seminars, the International Maritime Associations of America or IMA, met with representatives from the shipyards in New Britain and Connecticut to share information about the ice issues facing both areas. Among the topics discussed were the types of ice used in the New Britain seaboard that the shipyards use, the latest trends in ice-breaking methods and types of ice breakers used and the upcoming IMA Annual meeting in New Britain that will bring together members from all of the shipyards. The seminars are a good time for the members of the association to get information about the various ice conditions and what the association is doing to try and eliminate ice formation in the New Britain and Connecticut areas.
